Activities > Expense Analyzer


The expense analyzer provides a variety of charts to allow for a quick analysis of  General Ledger expense groups for a given period of time as well as easy access to detailed information by clicking on various areas of the chart. 


To Access the Expense Analyzer 


Step 1. Navigate to Activities > Expense Analyzer.


Step 2.  Use the Search Filters to select the Association and Time Period you need to view. 


NOTE- The Month buttons calculate as of the last closed period.  For Example, If today is July 14, and the last closed period is May, 2023, the following will be the date ranges for the buttons:


Current Month: June 1, 2023 - July 14 (starting month: day after last day of last closed period, end month: today's date)

1 Month: May 1, 2023 - May 31, 2023
3 Months: March 1, 2023 - May 31, 2023
6 Months: January 1, 2023 - May 31, 2023
12 Months: June 1, 2023 - May 31, 2023
24 Months: June 1, 2022 - May 31, 2023
Prior Year: January 1, 2022 - December 31, 2022
Year to Date: January 1, 2023 - May 31, 2023


The above is for a calendar year association, for a Fiscal Year association with a year Oct 2022 - Sept 2023, the following would be the dates where today is July 14 and the last closed period is May 2023: 


              Current Month: June 1, 2023 - July 14 (starting month: day after last day of last closed period, end month: tomonth: today's date)  
              
1 Month: May 1, 2023 - May 31, 2023
              
3 Months: March 1, 2023 - May 31, 2023
              
6 Months: January 1, 2023 - May 31, 2023
              
12 Months: June 1, 2023 - May 31, 2023
              
24 Months: June 1, 2022 - May 31, 2023
              
Prior Year: October  1, 2021 - September 30, 2022
             
Year to Date: October  1, 2022 - May 31, 2023



Step 3. Review the various areas of the Expense Analyzer. 


Pie Chart - This section provides a visual representation in Pie Chart format of all expense categories and the percentage of the total expenses for each category. Categories are represented by different colors.



Bar Chart- This section displays total spending vs. receipts for the past six months for a quick cash flow analysis. Expenses are shown in blue and receipts are shown in green. 



This chart defaults to six months, but can be increased by moving the slider to the left.



List of Invoices - This area provides a list of all Invoices for the period. 





Mouse Over for Additional Details


To access greater detail for a particular category, hover your mouse over the corresponding section of the pie chart to view a pop-up with the total expense, the percentage of total expenses and the number of transactions. 



Click for More Details


Click a Category on the pie chart to open a single category in Bar Chart format and to provide a list of invoices just for that category. 



Click on the Doc hyperlink to open a copy of the associated Invoice.
