This is used when the invoice is already paid but the distribution needs to be altered.
Step 1. Navigate to Accounting > A/P > Manage Invoice.
Step 2. Complete the search fields to locate the invoice or invoices that need to be reclassified.
Step 3. Click ‘Edit’ on the invoice that needs to be reclassified.
Step 4. On the invoice page, in the Expense Distribution box click the 'ReClass' link.
Step 5. From the new window, select the post date and choose the new GL account from the drop-down menu.
Step 6. Click 'Save'.
The system generates the transaction and moves the amount from the 'old' to the selected GL account using the Post Date.
Troubleshooting:
- I do not see an option to reclass my invoice.
This option is only available for paid invoices if the period in which the invoice was posted is open. If the period is closed, it must be opened first and then the invoice can be reclassed. The system does not allow the creation of any transactions if the period is closed.
