Before linking Transaction Types (Charges, Payments, or Credits), ensure they are set up via Accounting > A/R > A/R Setup > Manage Firm Trans Type. Click HERE for more information.

 

Steps to Link Transaction Types to GL Accounts

  1. Go to Association GL Setup: Navigate to Accounting > Financial > Association GL Setup.
  2. Find the Association and Open Trans Type Tab.
  3. Filter Inactive Transaction Types: Use the dropdown menu to select Inactive and click Search to view unlinked Transaction Types.
  4. Edit Transaction Type: Click the Pencil icon next to the desired Transaction Type to open its settings.

 


Link Fields to GL Accounts

Fill in the following fields:

  • Add to All Associations: Apply the setup to all Associations if needed.
  • Receivable: Default receivable account (not used for cash accounting).
  • Prepaid: Default prepaid account (typically revenue for cash accounting).
  • Department (optional): Assign a department, if applicable.
  • Payment Category (eUnifyPay only): Allows homeowners to determine how payments should be applied.
  • Writeoff (optional): Add GL writeoff accounts as needed.

 

  1. Save the Setup: Click Save to finalize the linkage.
